A site-specific performance in which, dressed as La Virgen, the artist performed Neil Diamond’s ‘Girl You’ll Be A Woman Soon’ at different spots in New York where her heart had been broken.
Live! (2019)
A live streaming character experiment in which the artist visited public sites of high pedestrian traffic (McDonald’s, H-E-B, ) as an exaggerated, “other-worldly” body, where she ate breakfast and shopped for groceries. The experiment was streamed on Facebook Live with the camera pointed at the artist and not the audience, in an attempt to explore a theoretical shift away from audience reaction and more toward understanding the effect a constant performance of a Latina body has on the artist.
